BCTWS engages decision- and policy-makers through our Conservation Affairs Committee
to promote issues with wildlife, wildlife habitat, and wildlife professionals.
A key role is to provide science-supported information to public policy makers, wildlife professionals,
other resource managers, and the public concerning these issues.

From time to time, our chapter takes a position on a particular issue relevant to wildlife in British Columbia, when the science is overwhelming but not being used.
Once an issue is submitted to, or identified by, the Conservation Affairs Committee we follow a strict protocol to develop a statement and have it reviewed by both our Membership, Executive Committee, and the Canadian Section prior to its release. Key to this process is that we promote the use of science in developing effective policy to manage and promote wildlife in British Columbia. |
