This comprehensive lecture and lab-based course is essential for graduate students, researchers, biologists, and other wildlife professionals involved in the chemical immobilization of wildlife.

Instructors: Dr. Caeley Thacker and Dr. Adam Hering

Course Highlights: Anatomy and Physiology, Chemical vs. Physical Restraint, Pharmacology, Drug Acquisition, Handling, and Storage, Drug Calculations, Equipment, Human Safety, Capture Procedures, Identifying and Treating Complications, Humane Euthanasia, Necropsy, and Animal Welfare.

This course does not grant participants a license or authority to chemically immobilize wildlife independently. All immobilization activities must follow legal regulations and be conducted under proper authorization.
